Applicants for competitive discretionary grants must apply through Grants.gov. Grants.gov requires applicants to complete a three step registration process which can take up to 5 days to complete. Additional information regarding the registration process can be found at www.grants.gov.

Grants.gov’s Program Management Office has notified the Department of Justice of intermittent problems with grant application submissions on their site. Applicants are advised to select the "submit" button several times if the system does not respond. Applicants who continue to experience problems should call Grants.gov at 1-800-518-4726. It is recommended that applicants maintain a log describing any technical difficulties encountered and noting Grants.gov support ticket numbers and the dates, times, and nature of all calls made to their support line.

Existing or continuing discretionary grantees will continue to use the Office of Justice Program's Grants Management System (GMS) to apply, as will applicants for formula grants.

Review the specific announcement for the designated application process.
