Bureau of Justice
Statistics. Comprehensive access to statistics on criminal
victimization and victim characteristics and incident-based
crime statistics. Includes online versions of all BJS publications,
extensive crime and victimization data analysis tools, and Criminal Victimization
in the United States: Statistical Tables
(detailed data from the National Crime Victimization Survey,
in PDF and spreadsheet formats).
FBI Uniform Crime Reports. National statistics on crime and victims from the FBI's UCR program.
Indicators of School Crime and Safety or nces.ed.gov/pubs2001/crime2000/. Detailed statistics on the extent and nature of crime in schools. A joint effort of the Departments of Justice and Education.
National Clearinghouse on Child Abuse and Neglect Information. Comprehensive access to online sources of statistics about child abuse and neglect.
NIBRS
Hate Crimes 1995-2000: Juvenile Victims and Offenders. Provides access
to and analysis of data from the National Incident-Based Reporting System
(NIBRS) on hate crimes reported between 1995 and 2000. Analysis focuses on
hate crime incidents, victims, and offenders, with a special section devoted
to hate crimes that occur at schools or involve religious or sexual orientation
bias. The site presents tables and figures generated from NIBRS data. Datasets
and codebooks are also available for download.
Child Welfare League of America National Data Analysis System. Access to all states' child abuse and neglect data for the most recent years available. Predefined tables and graphs can be customized by state and data year.
